Craig County Farmers Market

Vendor Info

The Craig County Farmers Market is excited for our inaugural season and is looking for more vendors to be a part of it!

There are eight physical stalls under roof at the farmers market measuring 6′ deep and 13′ wide between the posts, and each one costs $10 per day on market days.  Vendors must bring their own tables.  For vendors that can fit on a single 6 foot folding table, a single stall can be shared by two vendors, with a reduced fee of $7 each.

Vendor placement on any given market day is based on frequency of attendance and the mix of vendors, with priority given to producers (farmers and growers of produce, meat, and eggs), canned goods and baked goods, and then artisans.  Market management also works to have a good balance of variety of different products without too much duplication, which may inform placement decisions in certain situations.

A few important notes about what vendors should expect:

  • Only locally produced or manufactured products will be permitted to be sold at the CCFM. Local is defined as grown within a 100 mile (as the crow flies) radius of Craig County.
  • To maintain diversity, vendors may purchase up to 25% of what they sell. However, those products must still meet the “locally grown by a local farmer” requirements.
  • All meat products must follow applicable USDA and/or VDACS regulations. No live animals are allowed to be sold at CCFM.
  • Integrity and honesty in labeling is of paramount importance – it should be very clear to the customer where and how the products were produced.
  • Vendors are responsible for the collection of all applicable sales taxes and it is highly recommended to carry product liability insurance.
